With the aim of developing our union’s membership into professionals and leaders, the Amber Light Society (est. 1997) has a proud tradition of supporting women within Local 3, the IBEW, the electrical industry, and the construction trades. The Amber Light Society meets on the third Thursday of every month (except July) in the JIB Balcony Lounge. In addition to monthly meetings, the club actively supports several charities throughout the year, regularly participates in the Electrical Workers Minority Caucus (EWMC) Day of Service, and since 2011 annually awards the Amber Light Society Scholarship.
