Thomas Cozzo was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. After graduating from Lafayette High School, he attended the New England Institute of Technology, graduating with an associate degree in electrical technology. In 2007, Thomas passed the “M” journeyman exam, as well as graduating from the Mechanics Institute with a diploma in electrical technology. In 2012, he passed the Master Electrician exam. In 2007, Thomas began working with the City Division and started with the Department of Environmental Protection as a civil service electrician's helper. He was called off the list for civil service electrician in 2009 to work at the Department of Transportation and Staten Island Ferry.
In 2003, Thomas was involved with organizing various Local 342 UFCW shops into Local 3. Thomas was appointed as a Trustee to the Executive Board of the “A” City Division by Business Representative Sean Fitzpatrick in 2009. He was appointed Vice Chairman in 2016, and then in 2017 Thomas was appointed Business Representative for the City Division.
Thomas resides in Brooklyn with his wife and their 3 children.
