Compensation Representative

Brother Tuohy was initiated into Local Union #3 in August of 1988. He successfully completed the “A” Apprenticeship program, worked as an MIJ, and received His A-card in 1994. Cliff has worked as an A-journeyman, foreman, sub-foreman, shop steward.

Cliff has always been an active member of Local #3. In 2000 He was appointed to the Wage and Policy Committee, He was also a member of the Election Board of Local #3. While living in Electchester, Cliff was the Treasurer of First Housing and also a member of its Board of Directors. In 2007 He was elected to serve on the negotiating committee for the Jacob Javits Convention Center contract where he served as the recording secretary.

In 2009 Brother Tuohy was unanimously elected to the Executive Board of Local Union #3 and was re-elected by the membership for a second term in 2010. Since then Cliff has served as a Delegate to the 62, 63, 64, and 65th Third District Progress meetings of the I.B.E.W., and was a Delegate to the 68th I.B.E.W. Convention in Vancouver, B.C.   Cliff was also an alternate delegate to the 2012 AFL-CIO Constitutional Convention where he served on the Sergeant at Arms Committee.

Cliff also returned to school, and in 2012 graduated from the Harry VanArsdale Jr. School of Labor Studies with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Labor Studies.

Cliff is a proud member of The Bronx Acorn Electrical Club, The Sportsman’s Club, and The Westchester Mechanics Association.

He is happily married to his wife Maritza and has 3 children, Kathleen, Patrick, and Christopher.
