Manufacturing, Supply, & ‘J’ Divisions

Christopher Erikson Jr. is the Assistant Business Manager for the Manufacturing, Supply, and ‘J’ Divisions. 

Prior to being appointed Assistant Business Manager in June of 2020, he served as a Business Representative since 2015 for a number of divisions which he still currently represents, including: ADM, Expeditor, electricians employed at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center, full-time Apprentice Instructors at the Electrical Industry Training Center in Long Island City, and the Joint Industry Board maintenance workers.

Christopher Erikson Jr. is a 5th generation member of Local Union #3 IBEW. The great-grandson of Harry Van Arsdale Jr., he was born in Electchester. He attended Chaminade HS and the NY Institute of Technology, graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Architectural Technology and Construction Management in 2007.  He started his career in the ADM division of Local 3 before beginning his ‘A’ Apprenticeship in August 2007.  During his apprenticeship, he graduated with a B.S. in Labor Studies from the Harry Van Arsdale Center for Labor Studies at SUNY Empire State.  He received his ‘A’ Journeyman’s card in February of 2013 and worked as a journeyman and Sub-Foreman in the field. In 2013, he was appointed to the Executive Board to fulfill the unexpired term of Business Representative Cliff Tuohy. 

Since 2012, Christopher has chaired the IBEW 3rd District Youth Caucus RENEW, running a network of young worker groups in local unions from New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Delaware. He represents the IBEW’s 3rd District on the IBEW RENEW Advisory Council. He has served as the Chairperson of the Local 3 Youth Committee and now serves as an advisor. He has also served as a co-chair of the Queens County Young Dems Labor Caucus. He is also a member of the IBEW Electrical Workers Minority Caucus.
Christopher serves as a trustee of the Joint Industry Board and several benefit plans of the Electrical Industry. He also serves as President of the Harry Van Arsdale Jr. Memorial Association and as a Delegate to the NYC Central Labor Council. He has represented Local #3 at several IBEW 3rd District Progress Meetings, IBEW conferences, and as a Delegate to the IBEW’s 39th International Convention in St. Louis. He is a bagpiper in the Sword of Light, the Pipes, and Drums of Local #3.

Chris has a daughter Madeline.
