A native of Bayside, Queens, Anthony Falleo was initiated into Local 3 in January 1989 when he entered the “A” Apprentice Training Program. He completed his apprenticeship and received his “A” journeyman status in November 1995.
A graduate of St. Francis Prep High School, he received a bachelor’s degree in labor studies from the SUNY Empire State College Harry Van Arsdale Jr. School of Labor Studies. He simultaneously received a Certificate in Industrial and Labor Relations from Cornell University. He has taken a majority of the training classes offered through the Educational and Cultural Training Program sponsored by the Joint Industry Board of the Electrical Industry.
Since completing his apprenticeship, Anthony has been employed as a journeyman, sub-foreman, foreman and shop steward on numerous jobs throughout Local 3’s jurisdiction. He has been a MIJ Boot Camp volunteer and a mentor in the “A” Apprentice Mentoring Program. He is a member of the Catholic Council of Electrical Workers, the Allied Club of Queens, the Bedsole Kingsboro Club and the Sportsmen’s Club.
As an apprentice, he was the recipient of the IBEW Lifesaving Award for saving the life of a journeyman who had come in contact with live 277/480. He successfully dislodged him and prevented electrocution.
Anthony resides with his wife, Mary, and their son, Anthony Jr., in the Village of Northport on Long Island.
