The Safety Department of the Joint Industry Board of the Electrical Industry has two important messages for the members of Local 3 regarding safety certifications.
Safety Training Advisory to Local 3, IBEW Members Holding an OSHA Card and/or a SST Card:
Members who have an OSHA card or a SST card, please review the expiration dates.
For OSHA, add five (5) years to the date listed on the OSHA card.
For SST, the expiration date is stamped on the front of the SST card.
The New York City Department of Buildings (NYC DOB) allows no exceptions for failure to retrain before the expiration date stamped on the SST card.

Are you interested in learning how to establish an electrically safe work condition? Those who qualify – by first completing the JIB National Fire Protection Association 70E online training courses – will be enrolled in a one-night, three-hour session for the LOTO training program.
The LOTO training program is a continual registration. Members will be registered in the order of 70E training compliance. Please contact the JIB Safety Department by sending an email to safetydepartment@jibei.com.
