ACTION ALERT!

Thanks to recent legislation in New York State, prevailing wage requirements are applicable on certain construction projects performed under private contracts. The goal was to expand prevailing wage to private projects receiving public subsidies and grow the middle class in our state.

However, the Public Subsidy Board is holding a hearing this Monday that will impact the calculation of funds paid by a public entity, which is used to determine eligible projects required to pay the prevailing rate. We believe this would have negative impacts on projects qualifying for prevailing wage.

Local 3 IBEW and the New York State Building Trades Council are asking you to let the board know that publicly funded projects have to pay workers prevailing rates.

Click on this link (www.nybuildingtrades.com/testimony) to go to a website set up to easily submit written testimony via email.

The deadline is 11:59 p.m. on Saturday, May 18th.

Please take 3 minutes of your time to go to the site and submit testimony to the Public Subsidy Board.
