Community Boards make decisions that affect work opportunities and quality of life in New York City. Known as the “entry level of local government,” there are 59 Community Boards throughout New York City whose members are volunteers appointed by each Borough President. Each borough has a different application and deadline, as follows:
- Bronx (due March 1st)
- Brooklyn (due February 19th)
- Manhattan (due February 23rd)
- Queens (due February 16th)
- Staten Island (accepted year-round)
Apply as soon as possible! Eligible members must live and/or work in that community district. Learn more about applying to your local Community Board from the NYC Central Labor Council's Community Board Initiative (CBI).
