The Electrical Welfare Club (EWC) was proud to host our 59th Annual Award & Scholarship Breakfast on Sunday, October 29th, honoring President Thomas J. Cleary as well as the members of the Veterans Club and retired Senior Assistant Business Manager Raymond Melville. This year is also the Electrical Welfare Club’s 100th anniversary of being an Affiliated Club of Local 3.
The Award & Scholarship Breakfast was attended by over 400 guests, including active and retired members of Local 3 and the Electrical Welfare Club, representatives from various Affiliated Clubs and Divisions of Local 3, electrical contractors, and elected officials. We were honored to host our keynote speakers, Mayor Eric Adams and New York State Attorney General Letitia James. Both keynote speakers gave powerful speeches detailing their support of Local 3 and the labor movement along with the challenges that we all as union members are facing in today’s world, and they both shared with us and our audience their strong support of the nation of Israel and the Jewish community in Israel and in New York.
All in all, it was another successful event made possible by the hard work of the officers and members of the Electrical Welfare Club and our great union.
