Every year for over two decades running, the Westchester Mechanics Association collects food donations from job sites and members’ homes during the weeks leading up to Thanksgiving. For the third consecutive year, the meal was served at the San Andreas Episcopal Church in Yonkers on Tuesday, November 26. Over 40 members helped feed more than 200 people from the community, which involved collecting, delivering, preparing, and serving all the food. WMA President Dennis McSpedon Jr. and Food Pantry Organizer Beatriz Castrillon thanked all who volunteered and came together to say a blessing before the meal, which was served from four food stations including turkey, ham, mashed and sweet potatoes, corn, vegetables, stuffing, paella, stuffed mushrooms, mac and cheese, rolls, and pumpkin and apple pies.
Community Leadership Academy of Yonkers (CLAY) also helped out that night. Dignitaries present included WMA Pres. Dennis McSpedon Jr., BR Tom Capurso, BR Rich McSpedon Jr., BR Lou Sanchez and retired BR Mike O’Neill.
