Local Union #3, IBEW Apprentices and the JIB Apprentice Department teamed up with the New York Blood Center for a blood donor drive in the Electrical Industry Center North Room from 3-7 p.m. on Friday, October 4. The monthly “A” Construction Apprentice meeting was held in the Auditorium simultaneously, so a lot of brothers and sisters were in the building.
Over 20 apprentices, members and Electchester residents stepped up to donate blood, and several more were waiting in the queue with a couple hours left. According to the New York Blood Center, one donation can save multiple lives and about 2,000 donations are needed per day in New York and New Jersey.
