Over 40 young workers came together last week at a meeting of Local 3's Young Worker Committee. After pizza and soda, Business Manager Erikson addressed the group, stressing the importance of getting involved and being active young members of Local 3 no matter which division you work in. Local 3's success is predicated on our membership doing the right thing both on the job and within our union.
Committee leaders Len Copicotto Jr and Kenny Cohen then led the discussion amongst the committee, setting the agenda for 2019 which will include organizing and participating in community service, educational workshops, high school career fairs, and social events.
Each club and division in Local 3 either has or is setting up individual young worker groups, so if you are interested in participating reach out to the young worker rep in your group or send an email to lu3youthcommittee@gmail.com.
