On March 7th, 2016 a celebration for Greek Independence Day was held at City Hall in NYC. The members of the New York City Council honored the Greek Orthodox Council of Local 3, IBEW for its outstanding service and enduring contributions to New York City. Councilman Paul A. Vallone presented the Greek Orthodox Council with a Proclamation on behalf of the Council. President Bill Papadopoulos accepted the award on behalf of the GOC and Local 3. He thanked the Council Members for the award and also thanked å_Local 3 and the membership for their on-going commitment and support, without which the efforts of the Greek Orthodox Council would not be possible. Also in attendance were Councilmen Costa Constantinides and Vincent J. Gentile.
