In the second year of what has become a new tradition, the Hockey Clubs of IBEW Local 3 and Local 25 played each other in a close game in front of hundreds of union families, friends, and fans. The game took place at the Northwell Ice Center in Eisenhower Park, East Meadow, New York on the night of Saturday, April 8th.
To open the ceremonies, Local 3 ‘A’ journeyman and Sword of Light Pipe Major Pat O’Grady performed “God Bless America” and ‘A’ journeyman Kyle Viverito sang the National Anthem. President Tom Cleary represented Local 3 in the ceremonial puck drop, and Local 3 went on to win in a thrilling 5-4 overtime finish.
Thanks in part to donations made at the game vs. Local 25, the Local 3 Hockey Club was able to travel to and participate in the IBEW Hockey Tournament hosted by Local 58 in Detroit, Michigan on April 13th-16th. Let’s go Local 3!
