On September 22, 2016 Local 3 along with “Climate Works For All” coalition met at the stairs of City Hall at noon to call for changes to New York City’s solar initiativeåÊ The Mayor’s plan is for the installation of 100 mw on city buildings by 2050 to reduce the carbon footprint by installing solar panels and retrofitting our buildings in NYC.

Daisy Chung, campaign director from Align coordinated the event and was the lead in forming the coalition of labor, community and environmental justice groups. City Council members Helen Rosenthal and Mark Treyger spoke on the importance of labor unions and communities. These jobs make New York greener and the trades are the best skilled for the task.
