A Message from Business Manager Chris Erikson Jr.
First, happy 2026 to you and your families. I hope you had a wonderful and restful holiday season. We ended 2025 on a strong note, so I know 2026 will be even more prosperous for us all.
Second, congratulations to past Business Manager Chris Erikson, who officially retired on December 31st. He has dedicated his life to this Union and to the members of Local 3. His steady leadership over nearly 30 years on staff and the last 19 years as Business Manager has helped guide us through tumultuous and challenging times. He did everything he could to protect us and our benefits and to grow our strength and work opportunity, and he helped get us to where we are today. Brother Erikson is a man of conviction, of values, and of faith. A true trade unionist, he has improved the lives of tens of thousands of Local 3 members and families over the course of his career. We wish him well on his retirement and will honor his legacy by committing to keep the Union strong.
There is no greater responsibility than to protect, defend, and fight for the livelihoods of your fellow brothers and sisters. I consider it the honor of a lifetime to represent you all as your new Business Manager. The Business Manager is solely responsible for the results in the field, and I pledge to work everyday serving this membership.
You, the members of Local 3, work hard every day and exemplify our Union's values of solidarity, equality, dignity, hard work, and respect. There is no better membership in the Labor Movement. I will need your support because when I walk into any meeting, negotiation or job action, my strength stems from you, as the contractors, developers, management, elected officials, and any adversaries out there know that the rank-and-file membership of our great Union stands behind its leadership.
So thank you for everything you do every day. Let's work together to continue strengthening and growing our Union, leaning on and honoring the legacy of those great leaders and members who came before us as we move forward. Happy New Year!
