On Saturday April 9, 2016 the Electric Elevator division of Local 3 celebrated its 60 years of affiliation with Local 3, IBEW by hosting a dinner-dance at Terrace on the Park in Flushing Meadows. The EE division was organized in 1956 under the wisdom and supervision of Harry Van Arsdale Jr. The dinner-dance was hosted by the Elevator Division advisory board. There were over 350 people in attendance with support from members, contractors, Local 3 clubs and other divisions, as well as the officers and officials of Local 3.
Elevator Division Advisory Board member and MC for the night Ed Wiley got the evening started with the Pledge of Allegiance and the playing of a nice rendition of the å_National Anthem. The rank and file honoree was å_Elevator Division Chairman Kevin Fowler. His award for 41 years of service to the division was presented by Business Representative Robert Olenick. Kevin then thanked his friends, family, and co-workers for his award. Business Manager and former Elevator Division Business Representative Christopher Erikson presented the award to the Local 3 honoree, Assistant Business Manager Lance Van Arsdale, for his 41 years of dedication to Local 3 and 10 years of service to the Elevator Division. Lance then took the mic and expressed his gratitude for his friends, family, Local 3 and his secretary, Xenia Troccia.
Business Manager Erikson returned to the mic to address the attendees on the importance of the upcoming election and to announce that Local 3 will be backing Hillary Clinton for President of the United States in the upcoming election.
