The Catholic Council of Electrical Workers hosted the 85th Communion Mass and Breakfast on Sunday, June 5 — the largest event of its kind in the country. The Mass was celebrated at St. Patrick’s Cathedral in Manhattan, followed by a procession behind the Sword of Light Pipe Band on the way to the Scholarship Breakfast program at the Sheraton Center in Times Square.
This was the first Communion Mass and Breakfast since 2019. Local 3 Recording Secretary Michael Loreto received “Man of the Year” honors, and the Rev. T. Patrick Morris Scholarship was granted in the name of Austin McCann, retired Business Representative and past President and Club Advisor to the Catholic Council.
Congressman Tom Suozzi was the guest speaker at the Scholarship Breakfast program. Thank you to Catholic Council President Michael McCann, Club Advisor and Business Representative William Hofving, Breakfast Chairman Hank Soderlund, Ticket Chairman Steve Fraser, and Catholic Council officers and members for bringing this event and congregation together once again.
