The NYC Pride March, established in 1970, is one of the largest events in the world celebrating the LGTQ community. The annual parade returned to Lower Manhattan on Sunday, June 25, drawing large crowds and a sizable turnout for Local 3’s contingent led by the New York City chapter of the Electrical Workers Minority Caucus (EWMC). To cap off Pride Month, International LGBT+ Pride Day was celebrated on June 28, marking the anniversary of the first Pride events 53 years ago and the 1969 Stonewall uprising in Greenwich Village where the modern LGBT rights movement originated.
