HEART 9/11 and team leaders from the NYC District of Carpenters Council and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 3 are working with seniors at the High School for Construction Trades, Engineering and Architecture (CTEA) in Ozone Park, Queens, where the next generation of young men and women are educated in preparation for college, technical school, and apprenticeships. Every Saturday over the next four weeks, the students are getting hands-on training with skilled labor union members while building an 8' x 8' shed up to code. Work includes basic framing, outlet, switch installation, sheet rocking, and roofing.
