Pursuant with New York City Local Law 196, all Local Union No. 3 members in the Construction Division are required to complete specific training to receive a Department of Buildings-recognized Full Site Safety Training (SST) card. The deadline for this requirement has been extended to March 1, 2021. Members in the Construction Division without a Full SST card after March 1 will not be permitted to work, and employers may be subject to fines if found in violation on the job.
SST card requirements:
All members are required to have a photo and voice print on file with the Safety Department.
Required courses for members who are graduates of the Apprentice Program:
● 4-hour Scaffold
● 4-hour Fall Prevention
Required courses for members who have not completed the Apprentice program:
● OSHA 30 Hour Construction Safety
● 8-hour Fall Prevention
● 2-hour Drug and Alcohol Awareness
Immediate action is required if you still need to complete any of the above. Please go to the Joint Industry Board Learning Management System (LMS) at www.jiblearning.org. After logging into the LMS, you should go to your IDP page and click on Find Training for the required courses. You will be taken to the Click Safety website where you can begin your selected course(s).
Members who have completed outside training that complies with Local Law 196 must register that training with the Safety Department.
