On Thursday, December 15, 2016, Electchester celebrated the upcoming holidays with their annual holiday lighting celebration. Special thanks to the Electchester Street Fair committee who not only sponsors the evening but volunteers for everything, from stringing the lights in the tree to handing out hot chocolate and cookies for all to enjoy, despite the frigid temperature.
The event, led by Business Manager Christopher Erikson and coordinated by Vice President Joseph Proscia included our famous tree, a Menorah and a Keno- rah. The tree included 17 flashing stars, in remembrance of those members lost on 9/11. The snowflakes lining 161st street led everyone to the decorated monument of
Harry Van Arsdale Jr., founder of Elect-chester. Representatives from Local 3, the Joint Industry Board, Electchester, the 107th Precinct and community politicians were on hand to help kick off the holiday season. The PS/MS 200 Champs Dance Squad was on hand to entertain and Boy Scout Troop 357 provided the color guard to open the festivities.
Special thanks to the many volunteers, Electchester managers and general manager and affiliated clubs whose efforts at our annual street fair made the holiday lighting celebration possible.
