Dear Captains,
Thank you all for your past support of our Striped Bass Tournament. This year’s Tournament will be held in Montauk NY Monday, October 10, 2016. Please confirm your reservations with your boats or make your reservations as soon as possible. Please be advised that recreational fishing allows 1 Bass at least 28 inches to be taken per angler for each day.
Last years format for post fishing gathering and winner announcements was a great success. We will use the picnic grounds at Star Island Yacht Club once again with food, drinks, awards, T-shirts and fish stories to be shared by all. Early registration fee for the Tournament is $300 for each boat with a maximum of 6 fishermen per boat and is due by October 1st. After the 1st the tournament fee is $375. This year, in addition to our traditional prizes offered through registration fees, there will be another prize available “The Calcutta.” The Calcutta is an OPTIONAL COST of $20 per fisherman. WINNER TAKE ALL FOR LARGEST STRIPED BASS.” You are not required to enter the Calcutta, but you cannot win the Calcutta unless entered. Please complete all registration forms and send by mail or hand deliver at the next Sportsmen’s Club meeting on Wednesday August 31st at the Joyce Kilmer Knights of Columbus in Flushing or the following meeting on September 28th at the same location.
We will NOT have a captains meeting the day before the Tournament. We will use the September 28th meeting to give any information and answer any questions regarding the Tournament. Registration forms and fees will be accepted at the meeting. Please don’t wait until the day of the Tournament to hand in any forms or fees.
