The main purpose of Electrical Workers Without Borders (EWWBNA) is to help communities build training programs and infrastructure that will create sustainable, ongoing systems to improve their quality of life, drawing upon the professional expertise of all volunteers working in the electrical industry.
EWWBNA was founded in 2016 by the late Ed Hill (IBEW International President 2001-2015). In 2019, Local 3 members volunteered with EWWBNA and their counterparts from Italy on a PV-system project at Chiulo Hospital in Angola on the western coast of southern Africa. In other years, EWWBNA has provided relief to communities in Puerto Rico, Peru, and domestically within the United States. As mentioned in the Business Manager’s Message above, the next project will take place later this year in the fall to help electrify homes in the Navajo Nation across remote regions in Arizona, New Mexico, and Utah.
