On February 9th, the Veterans Club participated in the 25th annual Polar Bear Splash in Long Beach, New York, and raised over $9,000 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation, which helps fulfill the wishes of seriously ill children. About 40 Local 3 members, friends, and family went to the beach on the morning of Super Bowl Sunday, and another 20 actually jumped into the frigid water along with thousands of other people. Overall, this year’s Long Beach Polar Bear Splash raised over $648,000 and counting, adding to their 25-year fundraising total of $10 million going toward Make-A-Wish Metro New York and Western New York.
