As the Metropolitan Park project continues to progress through the various steps of the process, Local 3, IBEW members need to make their voices heard to spur it forward. As such, there are two things you can do immediately to express your support for this major project in Queens that will help create solid union jobs both for the construction of the project and the maintenance and operations once it is completed.
First, look up your State Senator and Assemblymember, then urge them to support Sen. John Liu's bill S.7121 and Assemblymember Larinda Hooks' bill A.6781A – both of which need to be passed in the State Legislature for the Metropolitan Park project to move forward. Below are the key members who need to hear from us. If these are your elected officials, please give their district office a call or send an email, and let them know that you are a proud Local 3 member who supports Metropolitan Park.
