President Biden hit a grand slam delivering his State of the Union address last week. Like him or not, he told America the truth, urging Americans to wake up. He joked about his age while showing how experienced he really is as he described how he and his administration have turned this country around. He acknowledged the challenges he faced during a pandemic and the worst economic crisis America has faced in a century, plus the threats to freedom and democracy here and abroad. He spoke of Russia, Ukraine, and the January 6th attack on our Capitol egged on by a lunatic trying to stop the transition of power decided by a fair election. That day was in fact the greatest threat to our democracy since the Civil War.
President Biden called out his predecessor and other Republicans for promising to pass a national ban on reproductive rights. Biden committed to making Roe v. Wade the law of the land again.
He and his administration have created millions of good-paying jobs, unemployment nationally is at an all-time low, wages are up, and inflation is down from 9% to 3%. American manufacturing is back, with the passage of the CHIPS and Science Act, the Inflation Reduction Act, the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, and we are finally rebuilding America with good-paying union jobs. He’s lowered the cost of drugs while protecting Medicare and is requiring billionaires to pay their fair share of taxes. He’s addressing the climate crisis and pushing for renewable energy production, all while promoting good IBEW jobs.
There is so much more to be proud of without any support from the Republicans on any of it, including his offer to fix the challenge at our border. He offered them everything they asked for, and they chose to vote against it because Trump didn’t want Joe Biden to get the credit for fixing it. Absolute insanity. Listen to Biden’s speech: America is back on track. He stated that “he sees a future for all Americans and a country for all Americans,” and if you have doubts, then wake up because we cannot go back to the dark place Trump brought us to ever again.
