On March 18, 2017 the Bedsole Kingsboro Club of Local 3 hosted its 83rd Ladies Night Dinner Dance. This year we honored as our 2017 “Man of the Year” Pension Director Thomas Gallagher and rank and file member Man of the Year Bedsole Kingsboro Club Vice President Anthony Musnicki at the El Caribe in Mill Basin Brooklyn.
Doors opened at 7 pm with guests greeted by officers and members of the Bedsole Kingsboro Club.
Opening the night’s program was club president Robert Massato who introduced Aviva Marer, the wife of club vice-president James Marer, to open the evening with the national anthem. Club treasurer and co-dance chairman Rob Diver was up next to announce Local 3 dignitaries in attendance. Club president Massato returned to the mic to thank the dance committee for their detailed and selfless commitment to the success of the evening. Next, flowers were presented to the wives of both honorees.
President Robert Massato returned to the mic and thanked all in attendance for their support. He wished everyone an enjoyable night and then made special thanks to his wife for her love and support.
Business Representative Mike Jordan next addressed the guests. He thanked the officers of Local 3 along with everyone for coming out and supporting the club’s annual event. He thanked club president Massato, Dance Chairmen Rob Diver and Keeth Fiocco and the whole dance committee for their tireless work.
President Massato called up to the podium past president of the Bedsole Kingsboro Club, Local 3 President John E. Marchell to present the award to rank and file Man of the Year Bedsole Kingsboro Club Vice-President Anthony Musnicki. Brother Musnicki was initiated into the Local 3 Sign Division in 1984. He has been a sub-foreman, foreman, assistant superintendent and superintendent. He is a member of the Colony Club, The Christopher Columbus Association and the Staten Island Electrical Club. Currently Brother Musnicki is a shop steward in Manhattan for Business Representative Kenneth Forsberg. Brother Musnicki’s acceptance speech was both gracious and inclusive, recognizing å_officers of Local 3, friends, his mentors, his immediate family and especially his wife of 24 years Christine for her love and support and his daughter Victoria, a John Jay College graduate student accompanied by her boyfriend who is enlisted in the U.S. Navy.
Next, Club President Massato called upon Senior Assistant Business Manager of Construction Raymond Melville to present Pension and Retirement Services Director at The Joint Industry Board Thomas Gallagher with the 2017 Bedsole Kingsboro Club “Man of the Year” award. After earning a Bachelor’s Degree in economics from Herbert H. Lehman College the future Pension Director of Local 3 began his apprenticeship in 1974. He has been a high voltage instructor, superintendent, general foremen and foreman just to recognize a few of his endeavors. His participation in Local 3 is a long record of selfless return to the membership. With such a record it was an easy decision for the Business Manager to recommend Gallagher for Pension Director in August of 2007.
