On July 30, 2016, the J-Division held their 2nd annual picnic at Eisenhower Park under the guidance of our Chairman Gregory å_Farrell and his committee. Approximately 100 members and their families joined Business Representative Richard Duva and Assistant Business Manager Luis Restrepo for a day of family, friends, food and fun. Although a bit soggy at times, we all enjoyed non-stop barbecued food, refreshments and fun-filled activities for the kids.
Planning this event took a lot of time and effort by our picnic committee. Many thanks to Tommy Mezzasalma, Victor Paduano, Timmy Whitted, Joe Vacarrino, Jonathan Sadler, Rob Martin, DJ Vinny Trivigno, Tony Cusack, Frank Panzarino and Steve Caputo for their hard work as well as the many others who worked behind the scenes to make the event run smoothly. Many of our brothers, sisters and family members volunteered their time which helped make this picnic a great success and a wonderful day for everyone in attendance! Extra special thanks to Michele and Alyssa Farrell for their talented face-painting skills which were utilized to transform the children into superheroes, sports fan favorites and anything else the kids could think of. Kudos to Alyssa Farrell who displayed her talents by creating our 2016 picnic t-shirt design. We will have a contest in the spring to make it fun for the members’ children to create the next shirt design. Who’s child will be our artist for next years t-shirt?
The success of this picnic already has us looking forward to the next one!
