Today, we acknowledge and celebrate the life of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. with a national holiday. A life cut short when there was so much more to accomplish. His legacy lives on in the IBEW. The Electrical Workers Minority Caucus meets in conference annually to remember his work and establish his principles within our union. We are moving forward and proudly making progress, ensuring real diversity and equality for all members of the IBEW.
We honor our own history and the fight for justice and civil rights as we focus on the future. We commend the acts of community service performed by our members at the EWMC and also throughout the year, helping those less fortunate as we share the gifts that we enjoy as members of this great union and especially Local 3.
