Sascha Swanson is a first-generation member of Local 3, IBEW. She was initiated as an ‘A’ apprentice in 2006 and received her ‘A’ journeyperson card in 2011. She has a Bachelor’s degree from NYU and received her 20-credit certificate from Harry Van Arsdale Jr School of Labor Studies at SUNY Empire State College with a focus on OSHA in Construction. Sascha has taken many of the offerings of the Educational & Cultural Trust Fund and the Safety Department, including Asbestos Handler, Confined Space and Supervision.
Sascha was a member of the Board of Directors of the ‘A’ Apprentice Advisory Committee and is active with the Amber Light Society, becoming Corresponding Secretary in August 2021. She has been a member of the Mentor Committee and the 3rd District Women’s Committee. She was elected to the Wage and Policy Committee by her classmates in 2012. She has been a foreman with ADCO Electrical since 2018. At the General Membership meeting on August 10, 2023, Sascha was appointed to fulfill the unexpired term of Stella Fafalios on the Examining Board.
Sascha lives in Queens with her husband, Colm.
