The Veterans Club of Local 3, union members, and family relatives volunteered at St. Francis Xavier School in Manhattan to help feed the homeless and people in need on Sunday, December 3rd. Veterans Club Recording Secretary Christopher Porr connected Local 3 to the Xavier Mission, which hosts a soup kitchen every Sunday in Manhattan’s Chelsea neighborhood, serving hundreds of hot meals to people from all walks of life. The amount of people has reportedly doubled within the past few months, showing how many people are currently struggling to get by and the pressing need for places like this to continue their work. The Veterans Club was invited back and plans to return in the near future.
