Business Manager Christopher Erikson addresses members of the ‰ÛÏJ‰Û Division prior to the swearing in.

On June 29th “J” division members were elated to see Business Manager Christopher Erikson at the meeting to swear in the newly elected Division Officers and Executive Board. In May the members of “J” division showed their support by re-electing the incumbent slate of “J” division Officers to another 3 year term. The officers are Chairman Gregory Farrell, Vice Chairman Tymothy Whitted, Recording Secretary Tom Mezzasalma, Treasurer James King, and Assistant Treasurer Victor Paduano as well as Executive Board members Frank Panzarino, Artie D’Angelo, Robert Martin, Victor Allen, and Tony Cusack.
Business Manager Erikson began his report by mentioning the passing of Local 3 Brother Steve Caputo and how Steve was an asset to our Union through his cheerful ways as well as his hard work and commitment. He expressed to the membership how sad it was to hear the news of his passing. He reminded everyone of the importance of regular doctor visits.
Business Manager Christopher Erikson also expressed his concerns regarding the Spectrum strike and future plans to involve the IBEW to encourage Charter Communication’s to sit down and bargain in good faith with Local 3. He then encouraged all members to do their part. “There is much work ahead for us. Organizing our non-union competition will require a great effort by all our members. Our middle class lifestyle is at risk if collectively, we are unsuccessful. In order to win this battle, we need the participation of all Local 3 members.”
His message also included how important it is to Vote NO for the New York State Constitutional Convention. Make sure you are registered to vote and attend this year’s Labor Day Parade.

Business Manager Christopher Erikson concluded by stating the following quote from Harry Van Arsdale, “Eternal Vigilance is the Price of Good Unionism.”
