It was reported that the Joint Industry Board has started sending out the required Site Safety Cards. While many members have completed all the necessary steps to achieving their cards, many still have items to complete - whether it is getting your photo taken, voice printed, or completing the required OSHA, Fall Prevention, and Scaffolding classes. Please reach out to the JIB Safety Department to make sure you have everything you need to be up to date on the requirements that begin December 1, 2019.
Business Manager Erikson reported that the Building Trades is close to finalizing negotiations over the NYC-wide Project Labor Agreement that will cover $40 billion worth of work over the next 5 years. This will provide significant work opportunities for Local #3 members across several NYC agencies.
Local #3 IBEW sister Allison Ziogas was nominated by Business Manager Erikson to be the rank-and-file honoree at the Climate Jobs NY event in September. Climate Jobs NY is a coalition of labor unions representing over 2.6 million New Yorker's who are committed to fighting climate change while creating good union jobs and more resilient neighborhoods.
