This past weekend, the Sportsmen's Club organized a 'Walk for Autism Awareness' through our beautiful Electchester neighborhood, while raising money for the Eden II Genesis program. Starting from the JIB Courtyard with coffee, donuts, and a short program led by Sportsmen's Club President Tom Mohan and Business Rep Anthony Falleo, the Sword of Light band then led a procession of the walkers through the neighborhood to a playground in First Housing, with a brief pit stop at Harry's Rock.
Sportsmen's Club members, rank and file Local 3 sisters and brothers, and members of the community all came together to raise money and awareness for a wonderful cause, collecting over $30,000 for the Eden II Genesis programs. Some of the Eden II Genesis services include assisting children with autism in elementary and secondary ed programs, the Genesis Outreach Autism Center, an Adult Day Habilitation program, and community residences.
