Right now, 30 million American adults are living with kidney disease and our union is going to do something about it. We want to help improve and extend people's lives, so we are planning on participating in the NYC Kidney Walk on November 11th. We walk for patients, families, and people at risk. We walk with more than 5,500 teams from across the country to raise vital funds and help the National Kidney Foundation (NKF) expand the public conversation from kidney disease to kidney health. Together, Local 3 can make an impact!
This is an issue that hits close to home for our local, as Business Manager Erikson's son Thomas underwent a kidney transplant just over a year ago along with several other members and family members directly affected by chronic kidney disease.
