Recently, the NYS Public Service Commission revoked its approval of the 2016 merger between Charter/Spectrum and Time Warner Cable. According to the PSC, Charter has failed to live up to a number of conditions of the merger agreement meant to advance the public interest – failure to meet deadlines, failure to meet service expansion milestones, and unsafe practices in the field among other reasons. The PSC ordered Charter to file a plan within 60 days for an orderly transition to a new service provider for NY state without any service interruptions along with potential enforcement action in State Supreme Court.
