Due to the COVID-19 global pandemic, all Electrical Workers Without Borders North America international volunteer work has been suspended since 2020 and well into 2021. EWWBNA’s priority is, first and foremost, the health and safety of volunteers. Nevertheless, members of the IBEW across the U.S. and Canada continue to volunteer closer to home and EWWBNA is considering more domestic projects that otherwise would not be completed without the help of volunteers.
EWWBNA carries on the legacy of the late Ed Hill, IBEW International President 2001-2015. In 2016, Hill founded Electrical Workers Without Borders North America (EWWBNA) and established the organization’s mission and direction for future generations bringing the benefits of electricity around the world. In 2019, Local 3 members volunteered with EWWBNA and their counterparts from Italy on a PV-system project at Chiulo Hospital in Angola on the western coast of southern Africa.
