The NYPD’s 107th Precinct and its Community Council hosted the annual Night Out Against Crime community-relations event on Tuesday, August 4th in the Electchester Shopping Center. Local 3 IBEW, affiliated clubs, and the Joint Industry Board participated in the preparations and program. Electchester residents enjoyed cold refreshments and a free barbecue dinner, grilled and served by volunteers from Local 3, with music provided once again by DJ Ryan Evan.
This event was co-sponsored by local establishments, restaurants, public services, law enforcement, constituency groups, and elected officials, namely Rep. Grace Meng, Assemblymembers Sam Berger and David Weprin, and City Council members James Gennaro and Linda Lee.
Night Out events take place every year on the first Tuesday of August, promoting safe streets in thousands of neighborhoods across the country, including 70 separate locations in New York City.
