Apprentices are the future of Local 3 and the unionized electrical industry. When the Apprentice Advisory Committee realized there is a growing need for work clothes and boots, the young men and women in the Apprentice Program stepped up to meet that need. The “Community Threads” clothing drive, led by co-chairs Alexis Palmer and Teddy Ostrow, collected donations from Local 3 members at the union hall and in class during the past two months, so they were able to distribute dozens of hi-vis shirts, hoodies, pants, hats, and pairs of boots at the most recent Apprentice meeting on Friday, May 15th. Thank you to everyone who donated and volunteered to make this a successful effort.
